Introduction </>
Translation of application is provided by volunteers.
It is done using localized versions of XML resource-files stored in the term/src/main/res/values* directories of the source tree.
Please read the official Android documentation -
"Localizing with Resources".
New </>
To localize application into a new language you has to create new directory ".../res/values-XXX/",
where XXX is code of your language.
Then you has to copy into it files "strings.xml" and "arrays.xml" from directory ".../res/values/" (default language).
Open files with a text editor and replace English text with text into your language.
In file "strings.xml" the text is located between opening <string> and closing </string> tags.
In file "arrays.xml" the text is located between opening <item> and closing </item> tags.
Note arrays you are obliged to keep same number of items in same order as in default language.
After translation recompile application to include your new translation.
Please send (email)
new localization to application maintainer for inclusion in next release.
Update </>
To update existing localization edit text in files "strings.xml" and "arrays.xml" located in ".../res/values-XXX/",
where XXX is code of your language. Add missing entries, if any, from default language.
After localization update you have to recompile application.
You may want to send (email)
updates to package maintainer to be included in next release.
Web </>
Another way is to use
Launchpad software translations.
You can help translate "TermOne Plus" project using a normal web browser and your Launchpad account
using simple web-interface to contribute in a wiki-style of collaboration.
Terms of use require that you agree to license all your translations using the BSD license.
This means that the translations you make are compatible with as many open source licenses as possible.
Interface feature "Point and click suggestions" automatically suggesting possible translations
from its library of millions of strings.
Note on the string's context, help you translate it more intelligently.
Before to start to contribute you may want to read
translations guide.
Due to incompatibility between localization resource formats synchronization process is manual.
Process is bi-directional - from "TermOne Plus"
translation page
to source code repository
and vice versa.
"TermOne Plus" maintainer is responsible to synchronize web-bases translation with source code before each release.
